This is me and my mom when we first got to my apartment in my nice new room :)
Well I'm here in California, living the Disney dream! I called Keri the other day and she told me I should blog everything I do here, and at first I thought, "Nah, no one will read it!" But now it keeps going through my brain. So if you would read my updates about my Disney College Program experience just comment below please :)
Well I'm too excited right now so I'll tell you what I have done so far!
Well we (mom, dad, and me) left Friday morning and made it all the way down to St. George, and met up with my awesome aunt Crystal and her husband Bart and they took us to Chili's for dinner! I love Chili's and I love them so it was an awesome combo! It was so great to talk to them about everything too! They are such awesome people! So then we stayed at our favorite Hampton Inn just by the outlet malls that night.
Saturday we drove from St. George to Anaheim California! We drove around my apartment complex and actually met some of the families that had someone in the program too. We then took Beach Blvd. all the way to Huntington Beach. By the time we got there it was pretty dark, but really the beach is still pretty even when it was dark. It was awesome to watch the waves and it was really relaxing. We then ate at in and out and went back to the hotel. Mom and me decided we wanted to explore what was going to be my neighborhood after that so we took my gps (his name is Jason) and explored my neighborhood.
Well Sunday morning arrived and we all got ready pretty early, I was excited/nervous but we made our way to my apartment complex where my check in was. We got there and everyone was so nice and soo welcoming, I had to basically just sign a few things and hear how to work my bus pass and where I was going to park. I was very lucky to get the parking right under my building! Thankfully mom and dad helped me then move into my nice apartment, it was quite the workout tho! We parked on the 2nd story of the parking garage on the opposite street of my apartment building and I live on the 4th floor, and sense everyone was moving at the same time the elevators were almost impossible to get, so we took the stairs cause it was faster that way. After we got everything into my apartment dad just seemed to relax out on the couch in my living room, I feel bad cause I'm sure he was super pooped after moving all my crap. Thanks dad though I really REALLY appreciate it! So dad was out there, he put my dvds on my dvd shelf and he also found out some stuff for us too! And mom and me were unpacking and organizing all my clothes and stuff. So soon I was all moved in and we were hungry, we ate at Subway, I got a footlong so I could eat the other 6 inches for dinner. And then it was time to say goodbye they had to make it to Las Vegas that night! So it was very hard, especially cause I didn't want to cry in front of my new roommate, thats not a very good impression I thought. So I fought back the tears as my parents left. I then had a meeting at 4:30 and I got to know my roommates! I went to sleep that night hoping I wouldn't talk in my sleep and wake up my roommate haha.
Monday we had the day off and all my roommates had plans with their different friends, I went to lunch with my friend that lives here, and then I kinda just chilled at the apartment the rest of the night. It was pretty nice to get some alone time, and finally breathe cause I no longer was nervous about the whole moving in thing.
Tuesday we had 2 orientations, they were pretty long and boring, but we got some free stuff and lots of papers, but at the end of the last orientation they took us on a surprise backstage tour of disneyland after it was closed :) We were all so excited it was awesome!
Wednesday we had to be checked in at 7:30 for Traditions (basically another orientation) We got another tour of Disneyland but this time it was while it was open. I loved all the looks people gave us because we were in a group all dress up nice and just walking around the park. People didn't know what we were doing there haha. So Traditions lasted almost 8 hours so I was pretty pooped when it was getting to the end. But then all of the sudden Mickey showed up! And as soon as he was there, he was gone :( but we did get our name tags and ID's which was our FREE ticket into the parks! So we were all so excited we got together with some new friends of ours and went to Disneyland! I was sooo excited! Even my roommates were making fun of me cause I was so excited haha. Well the parks close early cause it's still winter season so we weren't there for long. And by the time we got back home I was exhausted!
So now today (Thursday) we all slept in and then went grocery shopping finally cause this whole time we haven't had much food in our apartment, and we needed other various stuff we didn't bring. We found a super Walmart about 25 miles away from where we were so we ventured out there! Lets just say we probably won't go there again it was in a pretty sketchy part of town. But we did get everything we needed. We are just sad there aren't very many walmarts around here. I'm sure we will get used to it though. On our way back we hit traffic so when we got home it was pretty late to go out and do anything so we just stayed home and got some stuff done.
Well I know that was really long I'm sorry I ended up typing a lot more then I planned! I just had so much fun this week I wanted to share :) even though it just looks like a long boring story now that I look at that! Well I'm not sure if I want to make daily blog posts or just every now and again updates. Cause I'm sure everyday won't be worth blogging about haha. So I understand if you don't read all of this post but if you did, please leave me feedback if you will read and what you think I should do it would be greatly appreciated :)
so ttfn! Tata for now!
I'm gonna soak up the sun :)
